Alexander of Fiesole, a 6th century prominent Catholic figure, was born in Fiesole near Florence, Italy and became the Bishop of Fiesole. His life and actions were marked by his unwavering defence of the rights and authority of the Church. As bishop of Fiesole, Alexander witnessed the growing influence of secular powers in church matters. He firmly believed in the importance of maintaining the autonomy and integrity of the ecclesiastical institution.

Alexander of Fiesole is believed to have died in 590, he was martyred by drowning in the River Reno near Bologna, Italy.
